Wizard
Choose desktop defaults, weather location and conflict handling in the SYSC installer.
Installer wizard
Press Enter to continue and Esc to return to the previous page. Use the arrow keys to change a selection. The installer skips plugin selection and directs you to the shell's catalog after setup. Weather setup configures the shell's built-in widget.
| Page | Choice |
|---|---|
| Theme | Select Standard, Compact or Expressive. Use Left and Right to choose the desktop's light or dark mode. The installer itself stays black. |
| Wallpaper | Set the image directory. Enter an absolute path or a path beginning with ~/ such as ~/Pictures/wallpapers. |
| Weather | Accept the automatic location, search for a city, or provide coordinates with command-line flags. Check the location before pressing Enter on the empty input. |
| Conflicts | Choose Hand over, Keep both or Skip SYSC component for each detected provider. Read conflict handling before handing over an existing desktop service. |
| Review | Check the component list, paths and package-manager advice. Press Enter to start installation. |
PgUp and PgDn scroll long screens, task results and warnings. F9 changes the interface language. Ctrl+C exits; q exits outside text-entry pages.
If a sysc-shell config already exists, the installer leaves it in place. The wizard's theme and wallpaper defaults seed a config only when none exists. Use the shell's settings UI or edit its config to change an existing desktop.
For a non-interactive run, pass --city CITY or both --lat LAT --lon LON to set the weather location. With --yes and no location flags, the installer guesses from the network; if that lookup fails, installation stops and names those flags. See the v0.1.3 flags.
